Tibbett to open second intermodal hub in Bucharest

Romania’s largest privately owned contract logistics specialist, Tibbett Logistics, has unveiled plans to open a second intermodal terminal in the west of Bucharest next month.

In the 2010 financial year, Frankfurt-based Kombiverkehr KG posted some of the best results in the more than 40-year history of the company, with some growth rates in double figures. In total, 933,039 truck consignments (1.866 million TEU) were shifted from road to rail, 9.1 per cent up on the previous year.

The fourth annual European Business Awards was held in Paris saw shipping group A.P. Moller Maersk scoop the Environmental Awareness Award in recognition of their policies, strategies and innovations in the field. In common with many freight and logistics groups Maersk have shown themselves to be prepared to explore every avenue in an attempt to reduce the impact of their activities on the environment.
